Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 30, 2025

vevy.ai Inc. (“vevy.ai,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a Shopify app and related services that help merchants generate topic clusters and blog content using store data (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the rights you may have.

This Privacy Policy applies to our website (www.vevy.ai) and our Shopify app (collectively, the “Platform”). If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Platform.

1. Company information

Company name: vevy.ai Inc.

Email: info@vevy.ai

2. Scope

Our Services are intended for businesses and their authorized staff. When you install and use vevy.ai on Shopify, you may provide or enable access to information about your store and (in limited cases) your customers’ transactions. Where we process information relating to your customers, you are typically the “controller” and we act as a “processor” on your behalf, following your instructions and applicable law.

3. Information we collect

We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information we receive from Shopify, and (c) information collected automatically.

A) Information you provide

Account and contact details (e.g., name, email, role/title).

  • Support communications (messages you send, attachments/screenshots, and troubleshooting information).

  • Settings and preferences within the app (e.g., content preferences, language, publishing rules).

  • Content you create in the app (e.g., topic clusters, blog drafts, edits, prompts/instructions).

B) Information we receive from Shopify (store data)

When you install the app and authorize access via Shopify, we may receive store information depending on the permissions you approve. This can include:

  • Store identifiers (store name, myshopify domain, store ID).

  • Products and collections (titles, descriptions, tags, variants, vendor/type, collection structure).

  • Order information in aggregated or limited form needed for the “trending product” logic (for example, order counts per product, timestamps, or other non-sensitive metrics).

    • We do not need or intend to use sensitive payment card data (Shopify does not share full card data with apps).

    • If our app requires access to additional order fields for a feature, we aim to minimize what we collect and use.

C) Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data (IP address, browser type, device identifiers, app events, log data).

  • Cookies and similar technologies on our website and, where applicable, within the Platform (see Section 9).

4. How we use your information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Provide and operate the Services (generate topic clusters, create blog drafts, tailor suggestions to your products/collections and store trends).

  • Improve and maintain the Platform (debugging, performance monitoring, feature development, and analytics).

  • Customer support and communications (responding to requests, sending service notices, onboarding help).

  • Billing and account administration (including Shopify billing records where applicable).

  • Security and fraud prevention (detect suspicious activity, protect accounts, enforce policies).

  • Legal compliance (meet regulatory obligations and respond to lawful requests).

AI/automation note: Some features may rely on automated processing (including third-party AI infrastructure). We strive to limit the data sent to such providers and avoid sending unnecessary personal information. You should avoid entering sensitive personal information into free-text inputs unless required for the service.

5. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK and similar jurisdictions)

Where required by law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Contract necessity (to provide the Services you request)

  • Legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the Platform)

  • Consent (where we ask for it, such as certain marketing cookies)

  • Legal obligation (to comply with law)

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following situations:

A) Service providers (processors)

We use trusted vendors to help run our business (e.g., cloud hosting, databases, analytics, customer support tools, error monitoring, email delivery, and AI infrastructure). They are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to us and must protect it.

B) Shopify and integrations you enable

Our app runs on Shopify and exchanges data with Shopify APIs based on the permissions you grant. If you connect other tools (for example, publishing or CMS integrations), data may be shared with those tools at your direction.

C) Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, regulations, or legal process,

  • protect the rights, safety, and security of vevy.ai, our users, or others,

  • investigate fraud or security incidents.

D) Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any transfer will remain subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection measures.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including legal, accounting, and security needs.

  • App uninstall / termination: If you uninstall the app, we will delete or de-identify store data within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.

  • You can request deletion by contacting us (see Section 13). We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Shopify account credentials and restricting access to authorized personnel.

9. Cookies and tracking technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies on our website and related marketing pages to:

  • remember preferences,

  • understand website performance and usage,

  • improve content and user experience.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, our cookie banner/settings. Disabling cookies may limit some functionality. (Read: Cookie Policy)

10. International data transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including the United States and other locations where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms).

11. Your privacy rights

A) EEA/UK/Switzerland (and similar regions)

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • access your personal information,

  • correct inaccurate data,

  • delete data (where applicable),

  • restrict or object to certain processing,

  • receive a portable copy of certain data,

  • withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).

To exercise these rights, contact us at the email in Section 13. We may request verification. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

B) California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights to:

  • know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share,

  • request deletion (subject to exceptions),

  • correct inaccurate personal information,

  • opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (as defined by law),

  • not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. If we ever engage in “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, we will provide a clear opt-out mechanism.

Requests can be submitted via Section 13. We may require verification.

12. Children’s privacy

Our Platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Do-Not-Track (DNT)

Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no consistent standard for how to interpret DNT signals, our Platform does not currently respond to them.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may also provide additional notice (for example, via email or in-app notice).
