Topic clusters
Topic clusters are a way to organize content around one core theme. A central pillar page covers the main topic at a broad, helpful level. Supporting cluster articles (i.e., web pages, blog posts) dive into subtopics and link back to the pillar.
In practice, a topic cluster forms a content silo that groups related pages. Internal links connect each cluster page to the pillar and to peers. This structure signals depth, reduces dead ends, and guides crawling.
Clusters also reduce keyword cannibalization by giving each query a clear home. They capture long-tail searches that strengthen the pillar’s relevance. Cleaner paths help important pages get found and indexed faster.
