The blog builder is where you write, design and publish your Shopify blog posts. You build each post by dragging elements into it, so you never need to touch code.

How to open the blog builder

1. Open vevy from the Apps menu in your Shopify admin.

2. On the dashboard, click Create blog post to start a new post.

3. To edit a post you already have, click it in the Blog Planner.

To edit posts you wrote in Shopify before installing vevy, click Sync Shopify posts on the dashboard first. Sync is on the Starter and Pro plans.

The 3 areas of the builder

Elements panel (left). All the elements you can add to a post. Search for an element, or scroll through the list. Elements your plan doesn't include show a lock.

Canvas (middle). Your post as readers will see it. Click any text to edit it, and drag elements to move them.

Settings panel (right). It has three tabs:

• Post: the post's title, SEO fields, cover image, blog category, author and status.

• Block: the settings of the element you clicked, like its content, colors and button labels.

• History: the changes made to the post.

How to build a post

1. Write a title at the top of the canvas.

2. Drag an element from the Elements panel into the canvas. Drop it where you want it.

3. Click the element to set it up in the Block tab.

4. Repeat until your post is ready. You can drag elements up and down to change their order.

5. Fill in the Post tab, including the cover image, author and SEO fields.

How to save and publish

The buttons at the top of the builder:

• Save draft: saves the post without publishing it.

• Schedule: picks a date and time for the post to go live.

• Publish: publishes the post to your Shopify blog now.

• Discard: removes your unsaved changes.

Use the device buttons above the canvas to check how the post looks on desktop and mobile before you publish.

How your post is styled

Every post uses your template settings. They decide what shows around your content, like the table of contents, share buttons and author box, and the fonts, colors and spacing. You set them once in **Templates > Template settings**, and they apply to every post. See [Template settings](https://www.vevy.ai/docs/template-settings).

• Add sections (Pro): put images, videos or products beside your text. See Sections and layouts.
